I forgot to say, I downloaded about 140 free books from www.amazon.co.uk for my Kindle over the past couple of weeks. That should keep me going over the next few weeks. I ordered a few not-free books over the past month too, and think maybe if I'd stuck to free ones I'd have some money left...
Anyway, the link to a site that lists free Kindle books is http://www.kuforum.co.uk/free_ebooks/latest/?catID= , it gets updated daily, and it is worth checking every day as books sometimes are free for a day and then return to full price... SAVES YOU QUIDS!!!!

Get thee to the salad bar, biatch...
My friend MM came over today. We're good mates. We have had some adventures in our times.
One of our favourite pastimes is to go to the local Harvester and eat ourselves silly at the salad bar.
I told her I was skint, but she very generously offered to pay for my lunch.
I readily and gratefully took up her offer.
We like to sit and get ourselves up to date on the ups and downs of our lives. We used to work together, so we are used to every little detail of relationships, family, gossip etc.
I had the mixed grill, and let me tell you, it was bloody gorgeous. I took a photo of it, and when I finally open up my email I'll find the photo and post it on here. By the magic of technology, this will happen immediately to you, but for me it'll be about 20 minutes later...
Here's the picture: Yummy, isn't it?
This was accompanied by unlimited pop. I prefer Diet Coke, but they only have Diet Pepsi.... When you're desperate for fizz, you take what you can get!
MM has a bus pass for one bus company and I have a bus pass for another, it's a sad indictment of our mutual poverty that she travelled to the Harvester on her bus and I travelled on mine. Then neither of us has to pay. We laugh because we do this often. I refuse to pay for a journey that I can make for free and she has begun to see it my way too.
Separate buses, eh? "Well," I say to her... "I like to have a little time to myself..."
MM wants us to go on holiday together. She thinks she can pay for it on a credit card. I very patiently tell her I can't afford to go... She lives on credit cards, as I used to years ago. I see her ending up like me, but she won't use my experience with debt as an example...
I am absolutely craving pop tonight, even though I drank 3 glasses of the stuff at the Harvester.
I'm tempted to get the pennies out of various jars and tubs around the house and get a bottle of cheap lemonade from the corner shop if it's open... Will update later if I actually get off this settee and fetch any.

From my own manky cupboards...
Yesterday's menu was frightful.
I ended up making pasta with a bit of pesto in, and then mixed some olives (got a big jar) a wedge of cheese and a couple of spring onions with it. Made loads. Ate about half a plate. The remnants are in the fridge. Doubt I'll eat them.
I really hate my own cooking, by the time I've cooked it, I usually don't want to eat it...
Pretty sure that my lottery ticket direct debit hasn't gone through. Even a small win would have been good.
I meant to ask my friend who came over today to go with me to one of those shops where they weigh a bag of your old/unwanted clothes and pay you for them by the 5 kilo... but it was raining when we got back to mine, so I forgot...
MEALS BEGGED/BORROWED/MADE:
2 poached eggs, bacon & tomatoes with 3 slices of white bread at my mum's for lunch. (She's a godsend is my mummy...)
1 passable pasta from my own manky cupboards.
1 cheese and pickle sandwich from my own manky cupboards.
